RACE SERIES:
Senior Rotax - Superone plus various club races

My name is Max Chown. I have just turned 17 years of age and racing is my passion. I have been a sim racer online for the past two years. In December 2023 I was taken to an indoor karting track in Devon. Over the space of six months I ended up being one of the fastest drivers there winning multiple trophies. Because of my success at indoor karting my parents arranged for me to test a Junior Rotax race kart at a track called Clay Pigeon, I did this test with a race team in August 2023. The day went very well and at the end of the day my lap time was extremely good. It was apparently the fastest time of any first day driver they have ever had, some of which went on to compete and win in Europe. After the success of my test day I joined a race team and applied for my Motorsport UK Karting Race License. I then completed five novice races to get my full interclub kart racing license. I finished my novice races in December 2023. I will be upgrading my race license this year to a full national kart license which will allow me to compete at any level of karting in the UK and Europe. In 2024 I completed 12 races in Junior Rotax at various MSUK karting race weekends with all but two of these races at one race track. During the season I had lots of podiums and learnt lots about race craft and strategies. At the beginning of this year I moved up into Senior Rotax. I started my winter testing in January and took instantly to the new more powerful senior engine and race tyres. In my first race weekend in the class I took P2 with multiple purple laps and sectors throughout the day, more than anyone else. I took a P3 in my second race at a track I had never been too. The pace I had found in winter testing and during the start of the season persuaded me to enter a National Championship called Superone. Superone was a big step up from the club races I have been used to as a junior, as this championship has a much higher level of drivers competing. It also included tracks that I have never been to until the weekend of the races. My hope was to finish in the top 10 overall and get awarded a seeded number for 2026, I didn’t know if this would actually be possible but I could only hope. So far this year I have been on the podium multiple times and am currently sitting fifth in the championship table. There is one round left out of six and I hope to secure 5th in the championship at the last race, which I should as long as I have a solid weekend and finish around the top 10 all day. It has been an amazing year and has shown that I am evolving as a driver and can now compete with the top drivers at tracks I have never been to before. Now I have better knowledge of tracks around the country, I am very excited to see what I can do next. Next year I will be stepping up again and competing in The Ultimate Karting Championship, which is another huge step up in both cost and competitiveness, as multiple drivers who compete in the UKs premier karting championship, the Wera tools British Karting Championship, also compete in the UKC. Karting is very expensive so I am actively seeking sponsorship to help me with my journey, which could be in various forms from paying for race tyres or even a whole championship season. As a sponsor you would benefit from advertising on the kart, helmet or race suit, depending on how much support is offered. In addition to this I would also regularly post sponsor details on my social media with my all race reports and any posts made to my account. As well as that, advertising would also be seen on the YouTube coverage from the Ultimate Karting Championship and any streamed club races I compete in. The UKC has 2.1 million views per month on livestream and 7.5 million views to date on YouTube, it is a worldwide known series.
